I’ve neglected my blog for the last several months…been busy with work and lazy with the blog! I’ve recently been shooting a lot of jewelry. I want to share 2 recent projects. The first one came from Grip Design in Chicago for Archer & Swan Jewelry. We produced images for the website, look book and brochure. They were great to work with and the ideas were strong. We also have worked on several projects for the local custom jewelry firm 65 Allure. Images were created for their website and ads.

I love shooting all things shiny!!….http://gripdesign.com…http://archerandswan.com

As I mentioned in a late 2014 post I’m involved with a couple of great local photographers who get together on a monthly basis and do self assigned projects as well as go on field trips around the state to shoot, discuss photography and of course try to eat great food…sometimes we wonder if photography is just an excuse to eat! We all have a great time and the experience keeps us learning to see. Below are some of my images from trips to Cleator, Crown King, Winkleman, Kearny, Oracle, Mammoth and Rock Springs.

I need to stay accountable to my photographic passion. There’s no better way to do that then to get other photographers together and assign a weekly project that we all show one another and then discuss the outcomes as a group. We are accountable to ourselves and the group! So here’s my first project for the group critique. Hope there will be many more to come.

Sketching helps me flush out ideas:

Driving around and rushing to get errands completed…I slow to make a right turn and out of the corner of my eye I see a giant sandwich…hmmm that looks tasty. What a shocker it is to see food shots I’ve done on the side panel of a truck…like a billboard on wheels.

It’s always nice to be surprised!

It’s getting to be holiday time and Sprouts Farmers Market is ready with some new and unique recipes to spice up the season. The studio was asked to create a series of recipe shots with a “Bon Appetite Magazine” feel where things are styled more loosely and have a believable feel. The creative director built the surface we shot on and the stylist choose a rustic approach to the propping.

A special thanks goes out to Tim, Maggie and Dina as well as the food-stylists Kim and Jill and my assistant Rob!
