I think it’s great that Phoenix keeps adding unique restaurant venues with fresh menu ideas and ingredients. The Taco Guild is a perfect example of this movement towards the creation of the overall experience of dinning out.

We were contacted by the creative folks at the James Agency to do the food photography for the website. The restaurant is in a refurbished old church with a mid-century modern feel so it made perfect sense to style and shoot the food in a rustic and believable way. So lick your chops and enjoy some of the images and the way they were used on their site.

There’s nothing like a turkey burger. Then add turkey bacon and guacamole and you have magic…make them sliders and you have three times the fun.

We’ve done work for La Victoria Salsa along with Riester Advertising of Phoenix for a few years. We all enjoy the projects as well as the creative team work on the shoots. This latest project featured Jennie-O Turkey Bacon. The shot is being used in FSI pubs in major newspapers.

A big thank you goes out to the crew that made this balancing act a reality.

Besides my morning ritual of pounding down some coffee I hit the computer for my daily hour of research. I skip most of the really important news items and concentrate on all things related to photography and design. One trend I noticed and tried in a previous post was shooting overhead…so…I decided to play around and get more familar and get the concept firmly embedded into my shooters tool kit. Here we go!

Peter Shikany from PS Studios contacted me to shoot a recipe booklet for his client Illy Coffee. The main content of the project were recipes for drinks that fit into different times of the day to show the versatility of the product. This assignment is exactly what I love to shoot…tight graphic images.

Here’s the layouts Peter supplied followed by a few spreads from the booklet.

Thanks goes out to my assistant Robert Humanski, Creative Director Peter Shikany and Art Director Andy Cruz!

Just  a heads up…The Portraits Of Opportunity exhibit I participated in along with other area photographers is this Thursday night. Southwest Human Development started this fundraiser 3 years ago…a wonderful organization. Check out the Channel 8 interview with Laura Chasko and me.

I totally forgot about this project. I found it while going through project folders today. It’s a shoot for Dial Renuzit’s web site presence and was produced as an online magazine. I throughly enjoyed this shoot and thought I’d share it with you. This was done a couple of years ago for Santy Integrated Marketing with art director Adam Pierno. My thanks go out to Santy of course (which is now part of Air Marketing) my assistant Ken Clark aka “Macgyver” and stylist Kim Krejca.
